Word of Mouth Dentistry® prides itself on its commitment to the local St George community and beyond. We provide educational talks at local schools, pre-schools and child care centres.

Dr Stella Karakasi was the official Oral-B dentist on Channel 7 Weekend Sunrise for 4 weeks in August 2011 flying all around Australia with James Tobin appearing in most of the live weather crosses. Dr Stella in this time also provided free dental checkups for people in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide & Perth as part of the initiative.

We have provided oral health education and information evenings free to the public at the Kogarah Library, enabling people of the community to become more involved in dental treatment, their options and understanding treatments, risk factors and preventable oral diseases.

Team members are encouraged to help the community in any way they choose and they are acknowledged for their community efforts.

Word of Mouth Dentistry® sponsors many charities, including the Breast Cancer Foundation and one of our team’s favourite has been the St George Hospital Charity bed race, where all team members used to take part in the race, fundraising and giveaways on the day.

We also participate in the Dental Rescue local charity initiative providing dental care for those who are most in need and cannot afford private treatment. All our staff volunteer for this without hesitation. The event is part of the National Dental Foundation. Patients were seen from the Salvation Army, Uniting Care Burnside, SDN Children’s Services and Brighter Futures. Services offered by this initiative included relief of pain, emergency treatment, restorative work, basic oral health treatment and preventative oral health care.  Our initiative was written about in the St George Leader.
